Expensive they are and people still buy them.
The BMWs are not cheap, however as you can see the top shelf Porsches attract a hefty premium.

@JenK,
If money is not an issue at 93K for the X5M, you will be doing yourself a disservice by not going with the Cayenne turbo at 100k.
Surely the Porsche is worth the 7k premium over the BMW.

All I know is that with every BMW I have owned, I got to know the service department FAR TOO WELL. The vehicles drive great, but too many things like window motors, noise from the motor, etc. keep me from going back to them. Wife's 2011 Cayenne S? Never been in the shop except for oil change service and it has 17k miles. 2011 Cayenne S, no problems yet(but only have 2k miles on it). Neither 911's have been in the shop yet. X5 drives great, but the service issues scare me off.....I just don't need the hassles.

I don't understand some of the price comparisons in some of these posts. $93m is a loaded X5M. The base on a CTT is $105m. Apples to apples is at least a $20m difference.

But I am getting it for 86k! Big difference for a depreciable asset!

Ok Jen, sounds like that price is very attractive when it comes to bang for buck comparisons.
You just confused me when you mentioned that money was not an issue.

Jen,

The X5m is an great alternative. My problems with two 2008 BMW's, including the X6, were significant enough to make me think twice about going back for awhile. The X5m was second only to the Cayenne S in terms of comfort for me but I just liked the S more and didn't want the 17/12 mpg. The reliability tipped the scales a little but we all taking a small chance on the first year of a new model with the CS.

If you are getting such a great deal on the X5, and $ are not really an issue, can you keep the 911? You got a good deal on it and that would set you for a long time. Hate to see you give up that car-especially if it is paid off.
