In layman's terms, how noticeable was the difference? I can't read a dyno to save my life. But if there is truly a way to get more power out of the same engine, then it seems intriguing. Sounds like a Turbo owner can almost make a Turbo S out of his car on his own.

How important is the difference in intercoolers?

I suppose that depends on how much you can feel an extra 80hp/80lbs of tq over the 450 that it already had in a 5,200lb truck. It's noticable, but I would not call it life changing or anything.

Yep. It steps up the stock Turbo to right around Turbo S power +/- for just a chip. In theory the rest of your drivetrain is already equiped to take the power.

Then if you wanted you can update the other components to Turbo S if you want to. (brakes, lower control arms, etc)

The intercoolers will provide two main benefits.

-More consistant power in warm temps. (won't heat soak as quickly).
-Crisper throttle response.

...of course then you should be able to run the "chipped Turbo S" software and see even larger gains too. (the more boost you run the more heat you create. So the larger intercooler allow that pressure to flow and keep it cooler)
