Heated WindScreen , hello is anybody have this option? i have readed alot and anybody seems saying that at night or driving in direct sun you can see a wires on screen is this really true on high quality car like cayenne ? does those wires all over a screen or just on bottom thank you ...

It is LESS noticeable then my 2011 RR.

Good option especially if you live in an area with snow and cold temps. Faster clearing of the windo frost than with just warm air without question.

 

Definitely mixed opinions on this. I have it on my wife's '11 Cayenne Turbo and just placed an order to trade my Cayenne for a new one and ordered it for mine. I don't find it bothersome at all and neither does my wife. Hopefully you can find one somewhere with it to check for yourself.

 

Roxboxxx has linked you my thread. Bear in mind that I deliberately focused my camera to exaggerate the lines but they can certainly be a visual distraction to some. Most owners say that they get used to it after a month or so but anyone who sits with them for the first time always stare at those lines. Most owners also say that if they were to order it again they definitely would as it just melts the snow and ice during those drives in foul winter weather. I got it mostly for the defogging effect and if I were to order it again, I would not. I don't see very much snow so my opinion may be biased. I just cant stand the halo effect around oncloming headlights in the night. Hope my thread and impressions help you. Pittsburgh (imcarnuts) and Colorado (Jace) see twenty times more snow than I do. imcarnuts, did it not bother you even during the first month or so .. especially nighttime around traffic lights and headlights ??

 

I am with roxboxx. Do not order it. I have it and yes you get "sorta used to it" at night - but for $124000 I should not have to get "used" to anything. Its like driving around with bad wipers at night

 

Thanks all , im not going order this option yes for car this price it should be perfect if not better i live in RUssia where we got bad weather all my cars had AIR defrost and i havent had a problem just use some NANO sealant on glass and snow will drop easily

 

have you guys not seen those pysch tests where they can show you a picture and run an elephant through it and you don't even notice.

the brain adjusts for whatever initial minimal obstruction the heated windshield presents. you can't notice it after a very short while unless you concentrate on them

flip side - the brain cannot adjust for an overly frosted window still covered in crap.

the feature should be legislated as manditory in many parts of the US and most of Canada

 

I am sorry but I disagree. During the day you will not notice it unless it catches your eye. Then you can get it out of your head. Look out a screen door. But at night oncoming lights and street lights are a blur. There is no way to focus your way through it. Like I said - put old wipers on your $100,000 car. That's how it looks at night. Or put another way - to anyone without glasses - ever put glasses on and your eyes strain to focus. That is exactly what happens the first night out driving. Then you adaptation simply becomes to look away

 

Yeah but this is 100k + car , what if cayenne would have bad sound isolation and then you need to imagine that you sit in very quiet car ? you know what i mean

 

Very well stated CC. 1000 miles for me and that is what I've been doing. Daytime no problem ... night time especially with oncoimng traffic and traffic lights...different issue. I want to call PCNA and see if they would replace it to the stock OEM windshield for me. What are you planning to do ?

Me too. Having said that a rockchip cracked my 997.2 windshield and had it replaced without any issues.

 

if you drive by staring at your windshield instead of looking way through the thing than serves you right to have problems

 

All you need to do (whether it is day or night) is to look at what is in front of you through your windshield and then look at what's in front of your side window you will realize how much clear it should be. If you still think there is no visual impact whatsoever than I have no other comments. With all due respect, there is absolutely no reason to be harsh on us with that remark you just made. I hope we are just having a healthy argument and you just meant it as a joke. If you did then I am sorry.
