Coolant Pipe Data Points - Please Contribute

yes, getting it done as preventative measure would be a good idea. However the point of thread is to track failures of Cayennes. Nothing to do with my car.

Hmmm isn't Aluminum more robust than plastic?

This thread isn't the one you need to read if you have a cayenne and aren't aware of the cooling pipe issue. This thread for tracking their failures. Cayennes with v8s came with plastic cooling pipes that usually end up failing around 75k miles. The porsche replacement part is aluminum pipes. Its a big job. There is a class action against porshe for it and it can be reviewed at www.cayenneclassaction.com Now back to bizness, please continue providing failure information (mileage, location, model year, date of failure, CS or CTT) thanks!

2005 Cayenne Turbo on original plastic pipes, 32k miles, Oklahoma. I had them tested for leaks about 3k miles ago after reading all the coolant pipe horror stories on Rennlist/6 speed. They are still working fine. (knock on wood)

I replaced my pipes this month at ~93K miles as a prevention. The insides of the plastic hoses showed signs of heat errosion and would untimately have failed if I had not taken this step of prevention.
However, we did not replaced the pair of "T's" yet. I have the parts.
Since the aluninum pipe upgrade, my gas has been running hot (radiator water) and I have an appointment at the dealer in Boise.
I hope the previous work was done properly. I shall consider replacing the "T's" as well.
