Coolant Pipe Data Points - Please Contribute
Maybe this or a similar thread exists already but i searched and can't find it. I have an 04 CS that I picked up a few months ago. She now has 27k mi, i got with 24k. I was forwarded a thread on how to tell if your's had the coolant pipes replaced yet because I don't know for mine. The following idea isn't justifying replacement or not, but rather just to collect some data points.Between age and mileage which is a heavier contributor to failure? I.e. will this always happen at ~60kmi regardless of age or maybe it happens after 4 years no matter the mileage. I'm sure its a combination of both buts lets plot it.Please reply with model year, approx date of coolant pipe failure, and mileage at failure.

You know, what I should probably add in Location too. July is way worse in Texas than in San Diego, etc

2006 CTT 35,000 miles . Haven't had a problem yet, live in Chicagoland area. I have had the Cayenne for a year ,it was originally bought in NW Ohio. Best price I found for replacement is in Oaklawn, Il . $1275.00 includes everything in the kit from Porsche even the Tee at the back of the engine. Best price on front brakes too, unless you DIY $775.00 includes pads and rotors. I am considering getting the pipes done just for peace of mind. I think the price is reasonable enough

Replaced the pipes at 50K miles as a preventive measure. After they took it apart, they found the seals were already dripping. Basically there are several things that can leak:
1) Plastic coolant pipes
2) T at the back
3) Seals
I got them all replaced in one job. It's gotta be done, the sooner the better if you plan to keep your car for a while.
