Aluminum trim spots

I have water spots on my aluminum trim pillars (06 CS). It seems the car must have been under a sprinkler at some point.

I can wax them and they are gone for a while but the spots come back.

Any one find a way to clean or refinish these aluminum pieces?

I thought about some type of black out vinyl too..

You can try vinegar mixed with water, that will remove most hard water stains. Then, I'd wipe it down with some Pledge. Works wonders on stainless steel.

The problem is with anodized aluminum trim. It does this, and it's almost impossible to remove stains from it. Might be a good reason to black your car out (I'm happy the Titanium edition has ALL painted trim - wasted enough time on BMWs trying to fix bad anodized aluminum trim.)

Try this: Collinite's no. 850 Metal Wax. For marine and aeronautical use. I tried to have mine replaced under warranty ... they said no. I was in a marine/boat store near in RI, and saw this stuff. Works pretty well.

Thanks for the tips, I have a few marine shops around and will try them for that wax!
