I'd love to have one of these but honestly two things have kept me from it so far.

First, living in Colorado I love the heaed feature.

Second, I can't understand why they are so expensive for a recovered factory wheel. It's not like you get a new air bag with it!

I put a sweet leather Momo wheel in my 951 for $300. Twins included a hole adapter hub and a complete new wheel.

Then there is the insanely desirable Porsche 930 sport leather wheel for the 928/911/944 etc, etc. Those are only about $440.

Both of which allow you to keep or sell your factory wheel.

Then there are places that will do a custom recover for around $300 but you have to ship them your wheel.

Seems like soemof these companies have not realized that many of the current owners of these cars are not paying $100K for them but rather in the 20s, 30s.

Okay....rant off. Sorry. Very cool wheel.

Cole, I agree. The price seems a little insane, lol. I'm hoping they are $600 cheaper when I'm ready to buy one.

What companies recover? Any links?

Cool

Not to really hijack this thread, cause the OP steering wheel is sweet.

I got chatting over email with Dallas Custom Steering Wheels and he sent me some links to some Cayenne Steering wheel pictures. So I figured this might be of interest to a few of you.

I'm totally loving the driving experience even more now. This is the steering wheel the Cayenne Turbo should have came with!

Pros: thicker, sporty grips at 10 and 2, great quality
Cons: loss of heated steering wheel function (its kept in the garage anyway)

I purchased the extra thick leather wrapped wheel from DCT MS in Moutain View, California. I highly recommend them!
The wheel is a nice addition to a beautiful tan interior

From the email he sent me.

The cost to recover your Cayenne steering wheel with options to factory's specification is
- Wheel $299 (solid black leather) or $329 (Perforated & solid black leathers.* Can be combined Alcantara too).
- Adding thumbrests $100 (The heating element will be lost, if it's a heated wheel).
- Adding a stripe $30.
- Extra 1/16" padding $30 or 1/8" padding $50 (The 1/16" & 1/8" paddings would make your stock wheel to about 1/4" & 1/2" thicker respectively).
- Colored/Style stitching (no extra charge).
- Shipping $18.
Turn around time about 2-3 days.* 4-5 days if adding thumbrests.
We may have a core in stock in about a week and can do core exchange with an additional $150 refundable core deposit.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks,
*

Thanks for the kind comment pepper! Indeed, I'm loving the new steering wheel and it matches perfectly!

Cole, you've mentioned another great option and at excellent price. Did you go for it?
