Rear Hatch thinks its open
I've been having an issue where my gauge cluster reports that my rear hatch is open, and it causes all my interior lights to come on. Does anyone have any advice on resolving this? its a 08 if it matters.

I've had this happen a couple of times. Try opening the rear hatch (just the glass) and closing it again and make sure it's closing solidly. I don't like to let hatches & doors slam so what I typically do with my rear hatch is close it gently and then give it a solid push until it gives me a good confirming "click" to let me know it's closed well. If this doesn't work after a couple of tries you may need a new switch back there. I don't think they're all that expensive or difficult to install.

I've actually never opened the rear glass before. I never knew you could, and i dont even know how. So I doubt that's it, but its worth a shot.
I'm not sure if this helps diagnose the issue, but when i slam on the brakes the interior lights and gauge cluster warning turn off and the hatch is closed, and conversely, when i accelerate hard the warning comes back on.
As for the switch, any idea where i can get that part?

Your switch is fine.
The glass panel / latching mechanism needs mechanical adjustment.

I was having this problem about a month or so ago....I took the car to the dealer and they changed the two sensors in the back for the glass and for the lift gate...Don't remember how much it cost but I know it wasn't anything too expensive....
