How to verify metal or plastic coolant pipes?
Can anyone advise on how to verify whether one has plastic or metal coolant pipes without taking off all the goodies on the engine? I want to verify what i have.
Thanks.
Thanks.

that is not a way to verify though...it is an assumption.
I have not owned this car since brand new and until I go to the dealer to verify service records, I wont have that info (they asked me to appear in person with proof of purchase). Even then, one cannot be 100% sure if they were replaced since one can easily to go a different dealer or mechanic shop to do that and it would not be reflected in service records.
So, without taking the whole top of engine apart, is there any way to verify whether I have the plastic or metal pipes. Any place that you can peek or see through to determine this?

Yes and sorta yes. A mechanics "scope" (fiber optic camera) will also reveal if they're plastic or aluminum.

Thanks for the link. Still hoping I can take time to drive to houston to get the records, but if that does not happen soon, looks like I will be digging into the engine myself. Thanks again.
