Are the newest Cayenne's still lemons?
It's time for me to buy a new SUV and I'm deciding between the BMW 4.8is and the Cayenne Turbo.
I really would prefer to have the Cayenne Turbo, but it's reliability issues really worry me. For my winter hauler, I really don't want to have a car that's saddled with problems.
Are the Cayenne's coming off the assembly line now as unreliable as the previous ones?
Thanks,
KJ

Hi, Im from Toronto too.
I got my Cayenne in March. Just like you I was concerned about the some of the common issues and it seemed to me, after some research, that most had been rectified by MY 2005.
I have about 4,000 kms. on mine. No issues, except for the occassional Porsche entry & drive related"key not recognized" message.
Overall, an excellent experience and a unique drive.

Had my CT since Jan and absolutely nothing wrong with it....
I also have an X5 4.4 but plan on selling that in the coming months - I wouldn't buy a new x5 just yet - they are completely changing the shape imminently.

You would take a BMW X5 4.8 over a Cayenne Turbo??? lol you must be kidding man....
I know i might sound a little bias here, but I would also probably take a Cayenne S over the 4.8..... the X5 just does not have the feel and adrenaline rush the cayenne provides.... the 4.8 just has more power and goes faster on a straight line than the S. The X5 still feels like an SUV, while the cayenne drives nothing like one.
