Anybody ever try 295/40/21 tire size on GTS wheels?

Has anybody ever tried running a 295/40/21 tire size? Any issues? The stock size 295/35/21 overall diameter is 29.1" and the 295/40/21 overall diameter is 30.3", just about a 4% difference. Trying to think if I should bother since its about time to replace the tires on the GTS wheels. Thinking it might provide just a little bit more cushion.

Thanks!

My new tire size 305/35/22 is 30.4". This is about the same as your proposed 30.3" setup. It will clear fine, however, you will have superficial rubbing on a small portion of the fender lining if you do not stretch it out.

What do you mean by "if you do not stretch it out"? I am planning to put 305 on my 2005 CTT. Does your rubber? Thanks!

Yep. It will rub slightly on the fender lining right in front of the intercooler when turning near full lock. I started to stretch the fender lining in that area by placing a few layers of cardboard on top of the wheel and lowering my CTTS in its lowest stance to apply pressure on the trouble area overnight. It has gotten much better. I checked and rechecked and if it wasn't for the rubbing sound (read: annoying), I would leave it alone.

just want to share my experience.
I installed 295/40/21 yesterday(factory continentals are finished only after 9 month/25000km driving). like Renaissance.Man's experience, the tire is rubbing the wheel liner when turning. I went ahead and cut the bottom 1" of the plastic inter-cooler grill in front of the wheel and zip the liner against the hard plastic that is attached to the aluminum inter-cooler body. it gave me about 1/2" clearance now.
