2008 CTT Plastic Coolant Pipes Leaking

Went to get an oil change at std euro car shop and they pointed out a coolant leak. Took it to the dealer (car still under CPO) and they replaced a second set of plastic coolant pipes. He said the original recall was already done but these are different plastic pipes. They replaced them with metal. Also had to change the radio & Amp because it randomly reset all the time.

Just a heads up for all the other 08 Turbo owners. Cars @ 84,000miles.

Spinny do you have any info on this recall for the 08s? Is it anything similar to the Gen 1 issue? I thought that problem was solved when they went from the 4.5 to 4.8. I have already had a set blow on my old 06 CTT-S and just noticed a pretty substantial puddle under my 08 Turbo (hints me asking the question). I was covered under CPO with the 06, but not on the 08. Hopefully there is some info you can help me out with.

Any other owners of 08s with the 4.8ltr having coolant issues?

FYI: My mileage is at 76,XXX, and the build date was 01/2007

Thanks in advance!

I've got an 08 turbo and just noticed a big puddle under the car ., low coolant light , I'm going to add distilled water and head on to work and start looking for a mech or breakdown and go to Porsche

Let us know how this turns out.

After talking to the local dealer service department, they wanted to take the engine apart for exploratory surgery and claimed it was the same issues that was occurring on the Gen 1s - Given that I did not see a large accumulation under the manifold, the only noticeable coolant residue was coming from one of the small hoses and appeared that a hose clamp was loose. I have been monitoring the coolant weekly and I have not seen any degradation since I first noticed the issue.

After speaking with Suncoast they were not aware of anything on the Gen 2 models and certainly didnt have a kit like the Gen 1s.

There is nothing confirmed yet that the 957 will have the same coolant pipe issue as the 955. Anything is possible with time though.. I am keeping an eye on this thread.

What they may want to look at is the coolant neck that houses the thermostat. During production there is a rubber o ring that is installed and some became pinched during assembly... coolant starts to leak out at a pinhole rate but over time can develop more of a leak. If your going to take off your intake manifold you can view this neck and inspect it for that type of leak.
