A couple months ago I began the tedious process of choosing new wheels for my CTT. I say tedious because I wanted new wheels that not only looked great but would be LIGHTER than the stock setup and at least an inch larger in diameter than my stock 19" wheels. All this while still being strong enough wheels for use on such a heavy vehicle.

(FYI: I have my new wheels already and I will post a seperate thread with some pics. I am VERY happy with the results!)

I was getting some mixed information regarding the actual curb weight of the truck from various sources. I believe that even my owner's manual lists the curb weight as a RANGE based on options not a set number. The Gross Vehicle weight rating of 6790 lbs is listed on the decal in the driver's door but I wanted to know exactly what MY actual Cayenne weighs.

So I was off to the gas station to fill the tank to the brim with 93 octane so that I could get a total weight, all in! Then I drove the truck onto the scale.

The weight is below, take a guess and then scroll down...............drum roll please...................



She weighs 5610 lbs and I have a CAT certified print out to go with it. Again, this is the weight of the truck itself with all fluids including fuel topped up.

 

That means you have 1180 available pounds for passengers and other crap.

 

Yup! and I do tow my boat as well sometimes so from that 1180 I will also subtract my trailer's tongue weight when the boat is on there.
