Thumbs up The great Turbo vs. Turbo S Driveshaft mystery

I just replaced my Driveshaft today with a new one I bought. The one I bought was for a 2006 Turbo and I have a 2006 Turbo S.

I measured all parts of the new one and my stock one. Want to know what the difference is??? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! They measure identically and even weight the same (SO that rules out thicker tubing or CV)

So, hope that answers the "Is the TurboS shaft a better one" question.

Keep boosting!

I guess the old adage "a drive shaft is a drive shaft", is still true.

Good to hear the Chinese one is satisfactory - it's certainly more cost effective than buying from Porsche.

Glad that it worked out for you!

FWIW, the CTT and CTTS driveshafts do have different part numbers. So it is not unreasonable to assume that there must be some small difference between them. Hence why it is a recommended part change when doing the IE-81 Cayenne Turbo to Cayenne Turbo S retrofit. Whether or not it is appreciable, or even noticeable, is another story all together. However, given your input, I am glad that I decided to ignore that part

I think that was a wise choice. I was worried that there would be a difference but I could not detect any. Mine is working great.

Interesting to see how long the Chinese version lasts.
