Pictures of my '05 CTT and an introduction

I bought this CTT with 77k miles about 2 months ago and have been making small improvements since. I love the truck and plan to keep it a long time. It's not a daily driver although it is driven daily. I drive it pretty much everywhere except to and from work. It's the only Cayenne turbo in town so it's pretty unique in South Georgia.

It currently has a custom turbo-back exhaust, Bosch 710N diverter valves, tune, Rinspeed lowering module, and some ebay rims that actually look pretty good so I'll probably keep the style. It also has the cardan shaft update, aluminum coolant pipes, and one of the faulty plastic T pieces has been replaced on the coolant system.

So far I had an EPL tune added instead of the old Dimetrics one, oil and oil filter change, air filters, and an alignment although it's still pulling to the left a little so I'll have them redo it.

This week it's going in for O2 sensor extensions to turn off the check engine light due to the lack of cats, new front brake pads, and they're going to look into why the cruise control doesn't work. I think it's related to a new brake booster installed by the previous owner's shop right before I took delivery. They're also going to replace the other plastic T with a metal piece in the coolant system because it has a very slow leak. I also need to buy 2 new wheels as 2 of them can't be balanced and cause a shimmy at 70+ mph.

Other things I'll address in the future include an AWD dyno session with wide-band O2 because I question the air/fuel ratio. It has a load of torque down low but falls a little flat up top. I'll also add an air intake which might explain the lack of top end pull. The WOT 1-2 shift is also a little slow. I'm not sure if this is a tuning issue.

Cosmetically, I still haven't had a chance to machine polish it and I'll also buy a leather repair kit. It isn't damaged, but the armrests on the door and the center console show just a little wear and I know I can make them look like new again. I'm very **** when it comes to my vehicles. This vehicle will look and drive better than new by the time I'm finished.

I'll wrap this up because I could talk about the truck all night! Thanks for reading and questions and comments are welcomed and appreciated!

I had our wedding photographer snap a picture of the truck since it was sitting nearby.

These other pictures are just impromptu cell phone pictures and aren't the best quality.

The exhaust is beautiful, imo.

And the only thing I'm more proud of than the truck is my beautiful bride who is a fantastic cook (I've gained 30lbs since we met), keeps a very clean house, treats me like a king, and has a great career to boot. I truly don't deserve a woman this amazing.

No, the previous owner had this built by AR Designs. It's a work of art and took 35 hours to build.

The truck is fantastic and has some $$ mods already completed. I hope to take it to the next level and fix the little stuff to make it perfect.

Looking good! Welcome to the board! I remembered that AR Design exhaust system. I think it is less than a year old. Good score!

welcome, i had mine out today, so much fun.
have them balance your rubber on a hunter "road force" machine. that 70mph shimmy is uber annoying. it fixed mine.

RM, yes! The exhaust and wheels/tires are only a year old or so. I greatly enjoy your posts and research. You're definitely the most interesting man in 6speedonline land. (in my best Dos Equis voice)

The previous owner is a great guy and he and I became friends over a 6 week buying process.

Cuemaster, I'll look into that. Thanks for the heads up.

Welcome to the group. Have your tie rod ends and lower control arm bushings checked. I had a slight vibration at 80 and it resolved when the control arms were changed followed by a 4-wheel alignment.

Denversteve, the front end does seem a little loose when going over bumps in slow speed turns, particularly when the suspension is raised. It just doesn't feel as tight as our newer vehicles and has a light thunking sound and feel at times. I'll have those items replaced as a preventative maintenance measure if you think it would help these symptoms.

I would have a full inspection done. If that reveals cracked bushings, then a replacement would be in order. With your mileage it could very well be the case. Also, it might be a good time to check with your dealership to see if they offer the 10% PCA member discount on parts and labor. Mine does and it more than pays for the membership. Not to mention the additional PCA events and magazines that come with the membership.

Hahaha... I am glad I can inspire more Cayenne owners. This is really a great platform for modding. No reliability issues yet and I am still pushing the envelope...

+1.... I would not think about getting new wheels until I had the wheels balanced on a RoadForce machine. The machine was made for exactly this reason.. hard to balance wheels. The exact name is a GSP700 and they can be difficult to find.

Here is a link to the Hunter site where they have a locator page to assist people in finding a shop with one of their machines:

Denversteve, I've been taking my Cayenne to European Edge which is a shop about 2 miles from my house and the nearest Porsche dealer is in Jacksonville, FL which is about 3 hours away. Their main tech is Porsche certified with 23 years of experience. The prices are very fair and I really like the guys at the shop. I'll have them inspect the bushings and tie rod ends when I drop it off at the end of the week.

RM, surprisingly there 9 locations in my small South Georgia town according to that link. I'll take it by one of them this week. I originally had them balanced at a back woods shop that scratched up my wheels with the air ratchet.

Jason's old Cayenne from here in Denver. No idea why he got rid of it after such a short ownership. Just missed his Audis I guess. Nice ride!

Skigod and Cole, yes I bought it from Jason. I think he has his eye on one of those new smaller Porsche SUVs.

ECS-Tuning, I'm going to look to you guys for an interior led kit once I get the maintenance/performance stuff out of the way.
