4 WHEEL DRIVE FAULTY message, restart then it disappears?
Since I did the aluminum pipe upgrade and the other 60k mile service about a month ago, most if not every time I start the car I get a "4 wheel drive faulty" message.
However, upon turning off the keys/engine and then instantly restarting the message goes away.
It has been freezing here and this is the cars first real winter (I bought it from west palm beach dealer down in Florida this past Feb).
Few notes:
1-The 4 wheel drive does work normally, I have tested it in snow the past few weeks
2-The only time the 4 wheel drive light doesnt come on when starting the car from cold has been the next morning after a 4 hour drive to Boston (because the battery has been charged during that time).
3-I need to park it outside.
4-The battery voltage seems fine and car starts up normally after days being in the cold...and responds to the key FOB normally.
Have you heard of any of this as being common? I am anxious to see how it reacts when the car is in warmer climates but I suspect it won't make a difference since this happens every start now.
Any thoughts? Could it be some servo in the 4 wheel drive area, or any other ideas? I hooked up my durametric cables and it doesn't show any logs or codes...

I cant help much, but mine did the same thing to me last night. I shut the truck off and restarted and the warning message went away.
Today Durametric was hooked up and a code 532 had been present, but not current.
I would also love to hear thoughts on this.

I get that twice a year and also air suspension faulty. It happens to me when I lock my suspension to put it up on the lift and change the tires to either my winter or summer tires. When I put it back down and start the car I get the air suspension faulty and then 4x4 faulty. The first time I freaked out and shut the car off and restarted it and it went away. The second time I just drove it and it went away. I always assumed it was b/c I was locking the suspension and lifting the car.
I would be interested to hear what it really is now.

I would get that occasionally. I would restart and it would be gone. Usually happened when it was quite cold out. Chalked it up to the computer not booting up properly?? Since I got a new battery it has not occurred again.

Likewise. Mine will come on if the C is parked outside and it is very cold. No sign of issue.
