'08 GTS Front License Plate

Upgraded a base '08 Cayenne with an '08 GTS with 20K miles about 3 months ago. What a difference - best vehicle I've ever owned.

Live in California, so we have the front license plate kerfuffel. I have the US Mill Works tow-hook solution and it works great. But regardless how I angle the license plate, it triggers the parking-assist system. Yes, I can turn off parking assist every time I get in the car, but seems like a waste. 1) anyone had this problem and solved it and/or 2) anyone have other thoughts on what I can do? For example, is it possible to deactivate one of the parking assist sensors? Looking for creative solutions here.

I live in SF Bay Area and haven't had issues with no front license plate thus far. The only time I've had issues in the past was parking on the streets in San Francisco. Now I either park in the lot or mount the US Mill Works when parking on the street (after I've parked).

Porsche dealer told me that's what a of people do. I'd rather not have to think about it - and figure out a way to get the license plate to play nicely with the parking sensors.

They make a plate mount that works with the tow hook. Not sure if that would solve your problem.

Or you can do what i did on my 911. I bought a motorized plate mount. Just press a button and the plate comes up,press again and it folds away.

Also using a tow-hook solution and with the 2-3 positions it makes sense (aesthetically) to place the plate, the parking sensors get disrupted no matter what. Have been living with turning off the parking sensor the moment we start the car the last few months.

I've already got the tow hook solution. Where did you get a motorized plate mount?

Ditto... live in Napa Area - no front plate - never had any issues with LE. It sure would be upsetting to me if I had to see that ugly thing mounted there.

SoCal (LA) here. It's plain sailing until you actually get a fix-it ticket for it, like I did. Granted, I think the likelihood that people actually get one is low, but from my experience/hassle with having to resolve it, I don't want to risk getting another one again.

I ditto the Show N Go electronic plate holder. I had one on a previous car and it was fantastic. Comes with 2 fobs that go onto your keychain. I notched out one of the vertical plastic grill pieces with a dremel and mounted it to slide in and out of the grill. It was really clean. Ive actually been thinking about doing it to the Cayenne, however I keep on forgetting to look at the grill when I actually drive it.

I was actually pulled over by some cops who saw me driving without the plate visible, but by the time they came up behind me and put the cherries on, I was able to get it out when they looked again. You should have seen their faces, like they were mental for both thinking they didn't see a plate.

It's such a bummer having the plate dead center in that open mouth big grill…….

YOU!! I've seen you driving before, I noticed the front plate. (At least I think it was you, unless someone else has done this).

What did you use to mount it in that spot? Is it a Cayenne/S bracket? If so, how did you affix it to the bumper like that?

Here's my solution.

Here is my application. Live in VA where plates are required both front and rear. This is what the dealers use in my area. Bought mine from Amazon.

What did you search for on Amazon?
