Thumbs up Softronic Tune Installed on CTTS

I received my 93 octane Tune Yesterday via email, 2 days after emailing my stock tune to Scott & I couldn't wait to get home to flash it. Had to dust off an old laptop since the Core I7 processor isn't compatible. I used an old dell with a core 2 duo with 4 GB of memory (glad it's good for something).
I read (3 times) & followed the instructions to the tee & the install went-off without a hitch on my 957 CTTS. It was very easy & despite the software telling me it could take up to an hour to complete, it only took about 7 minutes.
When I first started up the car after the tune completed, it ran without going into LIPM mode, which is normal for some DFI cars, as it was explained to me. Scott supplies instructions on what to do to clear the codes via the Durametric software, which restores normal function if this should happen. Mine cranked right up, but ran a little rough with a very erratic idle for a couple minutes, but after a few revs it calmed down & has run smooth a silk since. I have only been able to drive for about 20 miles since it was loaded, but I can definitely tell the difference. The boost comes on much sooner without any lag at all & provides much more boost. I'm now thinking I may upgrade my Diverter valves as I hear them much more now than before the tune, but acceleration does feel stronger & smoother. I don't know how much you should be able to feel 60hp added to an already 550hp, but it does feel & sound faster. I received my stock tune back today to keep incase of a dealer visit. Thanks Scott for the extended deal & answering all my dumb questions. Can't wait to add some exhaust improvements next! I highly recommend Scott & the Softronic tune!

Congrats on the tune! As a side note, I do not ever recommend getting an ECU tune without diverter valves. Just a suggestion, I would pick up a set the first chance you get.

Thanks....do you have experience with different DV's?
I see there are a few available for my CTTS, any recommendations or any you would definitely stay away from? Looks like the drivers side one is a bit of a pain to install...i'll have to make sure I dedicate enough time so I don't try to rush through it.

I have Agency Power valves installed recently. Haven't had any issues so far. Other brands that I have seen are Evolution Motorsports.

Any aftermarket DV that I know of, is an upgrade on the factory unit. With that said, I can recommend Agency Power (what I am running), EVOMS, and Forge

It is definitely a pain, but doable with the right tools. I suggest a cable remote hose clamp tool.

Thanks again for the recommendation.

Like the original OP I installed Scott's tune last month. '08 CTT. The difference is noticeable and I am happy with it. I had not limp mode issues either. Just installed it and it worked. I did no other mods.

I would like to know what difference I would notice if I changed diverter valves and why you recommend them. Thanks in advance.

Easy - the majority of the power gains from an DME (ECU) tune on this engine is raising the stock boost levels from around 0.7 bar to around 0.9 bar. The stock plastic DVs are not meant to handle the higher levels of boost and may "bleed" off any excess boost pressure. By upgrading the DVs, you are assuring that you are receiving the full benefit of any DME boost level increases.

This is a great tool to use and a must have for these type of clamps! I purchased my first one when the Boxster was released in 97. It was perfect for the replacement of the oil separator hose.

Best,
Scott

Scott,

Good to see to you here. I don't remember seeing you on the Cayenne section for a while. I think it is good for the community to have you speak directly on behalf of your quality tunes.
