Top 10 Essentials for the S model?
Hello guys and gals,
Just grabbed a used 05 S for wifey. So far we've been impressed. First Porsche owned.
Car has Air suspension & Navi package. I'm still learning more about the car.
Anyhow, being a car guy, I'd like to make sure I'd get the first few essential things before going crazy with it.
Here's what I think so far, please advise/suggest:
1. All Weather Matt - Just ordered the 3D MAXpider. Hopefully it's good
2. Durametric - Been searching and I hear people keeps recommending it. So might get the enthusiast version from their onlinestore?
3. Coolant Upgade Kit - Gotta check if the car has it replaced (doubt it). So I guess that's next. Where can I get a kit for a good deal?
4. Double Din Kit - Well, I'm overwhelmed by the OEM Navi & gazillion buttons. Map is outdated, no BT, No USB/iPhone Connection, so I figure it's best to upgrade to the Double Din & Aftermarket Headunit for the convenience. What do you think?
5. Tint = Summer so trying to beat the heat.

Thanks,
Kev

Depending on mileage, I would recommend the Cardan Shaft Bearing Support high on the list. The bearing support is a known failure point, and usually fails at ~75k miles or so. If the rubber in the support fails, the bearing will soon follow & you will start getting some clunking noises below your center console, followed by drivability issues. This is an issue on all Cayennes of all years.

Not a problem, Nice find by the way having such low mileage. I had an 05 CS as well before the 2 I currently have now. Put 155k on that one & didn't have an issue other that coolant pipes & the Cardan Shaft Bearing support. I have added this part 3 times now.
This is the part I used & it works very well.

On the tint side, if you are going to get it, go with the best - Spectra PhotoSync:
