Alarm horn/sire has quit. Help appreciated!

Recently my alarm siren had quit working on my 06 Cayenne S. It started when l noticed that I was not getting the chirp upon arming and disarming of the alarm. I actually notice that I can still hear it very lightly coming from under the hood. When I trip the alarm with the panic button, it's the same thing, very faint, almost inaudible. Has anyone had this happen and has anyone replaced these? My steering wheel horn functions normally so obviously there is a separate horn for the alarm. I looked in PET and it lists both an alarm horn (95563711702) and alarm siren (95561823701). The horn is about $10 while the siren is $140. Do both need to be replaced? Why are there two? I spoke with my parts guys at the dealer and he told me the $10 horn is for the arming / disarming chirp while the $140 siren is for the alarm itself. He was not 100% sure however. If they indeed are two separate horn/sirens for two different functions, I find it implausible that they would both fail at the same exact time. Any help would be appreciated. Thx!
