Some questions about cayenne

Hi guys! I want to buy myself a used cayenne s in the following few months. I leave in Russia and I have maximum $75k for that car, so that's why I want to buy a used one (the new one with some neccesary options in my country costs about 120000$, because of very big taxes- about 50% of the price!). I also need to buy a 3-year old car, otherwise I should pay taxes like for a new car! I am aiminig on some cayenne s that was made from january to march of 2003. And I would like to ask you some questions:
1. What things I should look at especially during choosing a car? I mean if there were any defects or problems with the cars, made during those time (january-march of 2003)
2. If the car has pcm of the first generation (it is CD, right?) is it possible to upgrade to pcm-2 with Dvd? If yes, how much it will cost?
Thank you! I will buy that car in Germany, I want it black with sand beige interior, pasm and air suspension, navi, tiptronic s, some good stock wheels (19' or 20') and all the other good stuff.
Just another thing- my account has not been applied yet, so I will be not able to answer to this topic.

Hi,

to uprade a PCM to DVD is nearly impossible, because the most bus makes some trouble.

Many 2003 Cayenne went to Russia, but important is the history of the Car. Some 2003 Cayenne S with low mls are Factory Cars from Porsche self. These Cars are used in the rough Country of Porsche Leipzig.

Oh, I can finally reply to topics!

I want to buy that car in Germany, not in Russia and then take it myself to Russia. Because even for used car like I want (I mean with all the options, I need) they ask here about $90k... I am also interested where I can look for that car in Germany. I've looked on mobile.de, there are some good offers (about 50000 euros netto), but there also many-many scamers. Can you recommend any place to look at? Thanks.

I think it would work, but to have the phone option etc to work is a different story. Also the new one plays MP3 which is cool. that 50,000 euro is that v6, S or turbo?hmmm
I'll ship my car

Ok, so it looks like I will have only a headache if i try to change PCM, right? As I understand it is connected to many other things, so that's why it will be hard?
Approximitely 50000 euros is a netto export price in Germany for a cayenne s with some good options (for example, you can have a look at Cayenne S turbolook - it is even a turbolook, but that a car is a bit younger, than 3 years, so I need to find something from the range of january to march 2003. you can look for other cars and price on that site mobile.de). That is about $60k+ I need about $12k to pay the taxes when I am going to import the car in Russia, so all in all it's about $75k in total. So now the question is only about recalls and other issues with these cars, I should especiaaly look at. I saw http://www.alldata.com/TSB/50/04506755.html and http://www.recall-warnings.com/auto-...NNES.2003.html , but don't have any idea what is really need to be looked at. I have heard something about condensate in front lights. And how I will know if the previous owner had made all the recalls fixed? It will be written in the service book, right?

No, the recalls are not in the servicebook. You need only the chassis no and ask a porsche service.
mobile.de is one of the best sides in germany, you will finde one. if not ,send me a email.

Ok, thank you. I will keep looking on mobile.de for some good offers. If I need your help, I will email you, porschetom.

So, as I understood, there aren't any serious problems with cayenne S made in the beginning of 2003? And to make sure that all the recalls have been taken care of I should take the chassis No (it is VIN, isn't it?) and go to porsche service to see? If not, doing the recalls on car without warranty is free?

And one more question: is there any difference between pcm-2 and pcm of the first generation, besides dvd support and mp3 capability?
