Pulling the Trigger on a 2009 Cayenne GTS soon, opinions please!
#18
Hi all!
I am a regular lurker here and I am truly obsessed with the look of the GTS. I drive a lot, currently my 2010 Ford Raptor is just wearing me out and the thing is such a hog on gas, feels like i'm going to die going 80 on the freeway, etc etc. I am in the market for an 09/10 GTS, and I wanted to hear what your alls experiences / opinions on this model and year are?
I am opting for CPO, my dealer in Scottsdale AZ is taking one in on trade next week and notified me today, so the search might be concluding soon. Here are the options and specs, please give me any and all feedback!

I am hoping to find one with the sportplus wheels, as they look so nice to me. Is CPO worth it? The vehicle has 75k ish miles on it from what i know.

I just bought a '10 GTS with 64k miles for $36k. Full service records and only serviced at the local Porsche dealer (2 owner). Great shape with basically all the same options as yours. It's a FUN car and the seats in the GTS' are the reason I bought it over the TT. With the full leather interior and alcantara inserts the beast really feels and looks nice!
Big things to be aware of are the cooling issues which are well documented on here. I just picked up my car from my Indy this morning after having the Coolant Distributor go out on me causing me to have to have it trailered to the shop to get fixed. With a CPO, though, it's not as big of a deal. I bought mine sans extended warranty but felt comfortable from what I researched that I should be ok.
Good luck and let us know what you decide on!

I have a 09 GTS as well, picked it up in ~2010 with ~30k miles on it. It was clean aside from some curb-rash on the rims. Had no major problems during the warranty period, didn't opt to get it CPO'd because of the additional cost. Made several modifications over the years (lowering mod, ecu tune, bmc filters, 2nd cat delete, LEDs all around, backup camera, aux input).
I did all maintenance as recommended by the books, all done by the dealer. Much more convenient for me since I get a loaner from the dealer/etc.
Only problems I had were:
1. Thermostat went like 3 months after factory warranty expired; wasn't a big deal other then throwing an error code once in a while (cleared it with durametric). After the third time is when I took it in for repair, around $1000 for that fix (labor intensive).
2. A/C condenser got it with a rock and made a tiny hole which led to a full leak of all freon. $2000 repair, once again, labor intensive as they need to remove the entire front bumper cover to get to it.
3. Catalytic Converter cracked. Made some funny noises here and there, good thing was that the catalytic converters are under warranty for 8 years. Just had it replaced at no charger (warranty repair); cost was approximately $5600.
I now have ~67k on the odometer and it still runs strong. I work from home so don't put on a lot of miles. Plan to keep the truck as long as I can!

It was a free repair since it was under warranty, didn't cost me a dime.. I figured I might as well take advantage of it because in a couple of months the warranty on the cat expires (8yrs) and if the cat got worse at that time, I'd have to pay for it..

What is the emissions warranty on the cayenne 8 or 10 years from in service?
