Pulling the Trigger on a 2009 Cayenne GTS soon, opinions please!

Hi all!

I am a regular lurker here and I am truly obsessed with the look of the GTS. I drive a lot, currently my 2010 Ford Raptor is just wearing me out and the thing is such a hog on gas, feels like i'm going to die going 80 on the freeway, etc etc. I am in the market for an 09/10 GTS, and I wanted to hear what your alls experiences / opinions on this model and year are?

I am opting for CPO, my dealer in Scottsdale AZ is taking one in on trade next week and notified me today, so the search might be concluding soon. Here are the options and specs, please give me any and all feedback!

I am hoping to find one with the sportplus wheels, as they look so nice to me. Is CPO worth it? The vehicle has 75k ish miles on it from what i know.

Porsche Cayenne is still a pig 6,000+lbs , not exactly a Prius.

If you drive carefully. 13 city 18 Highway 15 combined. (source fueleconomy.gov) Spirited driving expect lower MPG.

Gas Mileage I'd go with the Hybrid, or even better a Lexus RX or even better Lexus RX hybrid.

Is it worth it? Well that depends on the person.

How much they asking ? I don't seem to see how much their asking.

How was it maintained? Dealer pampered?
Smoker, non-smoker?

I think what I meant was that I am just going for something more street worthy. The tires and feel of the raptor gets very old, it's not nimble and not very smooth. It's also the size of a tank.

Always sent to Porsche for service, one owner, non smoker. Asking is going to be 32k.

How do the options on it look?

Options look great, you'll prob at least have auto headlights do to the Light comfort pack. Go for CPO because when these trucks break, your bank account will also break. The truck you are looking at is slightly over priced. But get it for 28-30k with the CPO, don't even think twice or I will ****** it up.

Okay thank you for the information! I am hoping it is as good of a vehicle as they say it will be, otherwise I will continue to wait. I really want the sportplus wheels on it!

I'm telling you know, if its everything they say it is buy it. You waiting for the Sportplus wheels would be foolish. You may find one with the rims you want but it'll have a 100k on it with no CPO. You can always add the rims down the line if you want them that badly.

I will.

It arrives Wednesday and I will go inspect it and see it. The vehicle is coming from Seattle and started life in Vancouver. The carfax says 54k miles on it as of 10/20/15, which makes no sense if it has 78k now... That would be an insane amount of miles to drive in 5.5 months.

Also, if the car started life in Canada... Wouldn't it still be in km/h? How would they recalibrate the entire dash board to imperial units again, that would seem excessive?

On my Audi I believe I can change it to Km via the control/nav. It may be like that for the Cayenne as well because its digital? Don't quote me on that lol. People do tend to put a lot of millage on a car quickly if there work changes, or they decide to live a little more and go on adventures. It really doesn't matter if its CPO, its their problem not yours. When you go and see it let us know how it is!

Thanks for the responses!

There's actually one on Autotrader that is from Canada and his tachometer is in KMH so it goes up to 300 something. I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world but I'm picky and it would bug me! Anyways, I will definitely let you all know what I think and post some pictures.

One last question- would the 78k miles be a big deal? Or do these run well for quite awhile? It seems backwards to me that I'm considering buying something with more miles than i have on my current vehicle!

78k isn't that high, I've seen some turbos go up to 150k. If you take care of any car it'll run for a long time. Its all about the right servicing. My Benz has 115k on it and the last 15k where put on it during the summer. Runs like a dream. But its been in our fam since 03.
I know I sound like a broken record but due to it being CPO 78k is really nothing to worry about because you have the CPO thing. Thats the key in this whole thing. Your Ford will break more then the Cayenne will if you end up keeping that Ford. You also wont have to have a fight with the dealer every time something breaks....

I bought my 09 GTS last year with 80k miles. 1 owner, every receipt and service completed (full binder of records). I brought it to my indy after I had it shipped and he was amazed at how well it looked. He told me as long as you follow routine services (for which he charges less than half of the local dealer charges) the 957.2 is bulletproof. I did a 2,200 mile road trip recently and averaged 17 mpg at nearly 80 mph cruise control the entire way..DC to FL on I-95....looooong straight road. Around town with sport is closer to 12 mpg. You will not regret it!
