Best Snow car ever!

Best Snow car ever!
I've had my Cayenne going on 3 years now and for the first time had the chance to drive it in some snow the other night. I live up/out here near Seattle so we don't get a ton of snow or really cold weather. It also seems the last couple years were generally speaking unseasonably warm.
I'm gonna let everyone in on a little secret. I put Blizzak tires on this thing oh probably sometime in November or so......of 2014. I was planning on buying another set of rims and tires in the spring but I just never seemed to get around to it and always had something better to spend my money on. So I've been driving around on winter tires for over 2 years now and they are holding up exceptionally well. I mean it, last time I had them in for rotation/balancing they told me they were still at 90% tread.
So to make a long story a little bit shorter maybe it finally snowed around here the other day and I was able to try out not just the winter tires but also the 955 in the snow for the first time. It performed flawlessly.
We didn't get a foot of snow or anything so I was probably driving around in 2"-3" but man it just went everywhere. Up hills, down hills, around corners....no issues, no worries and almost no sliding. Even stopping, I would just put on the brakes and let the ABS stop me. I went and drove all over town at about 1am just to have some fun.
Yes if I tried to push it a little too hard around corners the back end would start stepping out but only if I really tried to do it. And just let off the gas and it would almost snap back in line.
Makes me wish we got a lot more snow around here. Nahhh, then I'd have to shovel the stuff too.

Haven't had mine out in snow yet. But we do have a DAUNTING 2.5 inches in the Portland/Vancouver area which has brought the entire area to a halt. I swear the mean IQ for drivers in this area is about half of the ambient temp outside. Have been out playing with the Wife's Subaru which has studs on all 4 corners. It's like a WRC stage in Sweden. WAY too much fun.
My Dad's up on Vashon Island, so I spend some time there and in Seattle. I can't even imagine what Seattle traffic must be like today. ;-)

I recently posted about a long winter drive.

The Cayenne with snow tires is amazing. The vehicle is so well-balanced and tracks so nicely.
