So... nobody with electrical issues? I read a few years ago that there were some electrical issues with the Cayenne.

I dont think you have anything to worry about. Im not sure if you guys are aware of this but for 2006, Porsche took the #1 spot for initial car quality and last year was #2 or #3 in overal dependability. No worries with relaibility man. Get the SUV an enjoy it.

the oil issue is only concerning those with the turbo, regular s and v6 models do not suffer from them. Also the tires, but besides that I think these cars are pretty good. knock on wood.

No problems with my 2005 TT with 20k miles on the clock. I just picked up a 2006 S for the wife. No problems there either.

-difficulty in starting caused by bad low voltage battery - dealer replaced battery
-intermitten car audio amplifier error message - dealer can't reproduce, so it hasn't been fixed yet. My work around to get rid of the error is by shutting down the engine and removing key for 5 minutes.
-bad ignition coil which caused it to stall - dealer replaced all 8 coils and spark plugs.
-intermittent headlight error message - shutting off engine fixes the error message (dealer couldn't reproduce the error).
-steering wheel plastic cover defect - dealer replaced

Luckily I purchased it as a certified used Porsche with 100,000 mile warranty.

Still perfect at 8K

8,000 mles and my Cayenne is running like the day I bought it- perfect!
Now, if I could only squeeze some additional horsepower out of that V6.

Kinkade,
13k on an '06? Wow! It's your daily ride?
Mine is my daily ride, because it would be a shame not to drive it

I have CTT since 11/2004. Bought dealer test car from Stuttgart, with 9000 km/s on it.
At the moment, I already have 109.000 km !!! Absolutelly no real problems.

Yes, there was some smaller problems:
- rear wiper problems (as already discussed)
- remote control problems (sometimes refuses to work)
- CD changer problems (replaced at no cost at dealer)

Also have to mention, that I like to drive fast (as Porsche should be driven), so I'm not like a nurse to my car, but it still works perfectlly fine.

I'm always using best quality of engine oil, Mobil 1 (0w-40 or 5w-40), or Castrol, when Mobil1 not available.

Changing tires twice a year (Michelin Diamaris 275/40 R 20), one set for summer and second one for winter.

I'm pretty sure, that CTT or CTT's will also be my next car, probbably with the same black colour.
