I don't know about that. I have no doubt about the Touareq capabilities, however this is just too exterem. I will have to see a video clip to believe it.

Well considering once I saw a man towing a 747 ( and I'm not joking )...I think a Touareg should do it better...

this is more credible than the Audi vid when the new A6 or A4 was climbing that ski ramp helped by a couple of cables.

The engine/tranny is stock on the Toureg. They did add a significant amount of ballast to the vehicle (a few thousand pounds IIRC) however. Also, the changed the ratio in the transmission, but since they ended up using a low range, it was unnecessary. In addition, they obviously beefed up the tow attachment.

They ended up towing it at 5 mph for a period of time, and used the stock brakes to stop it as well. Quite a feat for a SUV.

The diesel V-10 Touregs are very sweet and go like nothing else. The interior blows away the interior of any Cayenne IMO (the Cayenne interior was never one of its greater attributes) and the exterior is very handsome.

Oh and to disspell some of the doubt about the audi ramp that was referred to earlier--that car was completely stock, it just had studded tires. The cables were there simply to prevent it from rolling back, quite a necessary safety addition, considering what could happen should things go wrong.
