First problem with my new 06 CS/Titanium :(
So we took the first "long" trip to the outlet mall in Cabazon today (approx 90 miles away) - I pull the ashtray out of my old daily driver (Scion) and toss the coins into the new daily (CS) because I new we'd be taking some toll roads...I empty the change into the ashtray and close it.
We hit the first toll road and I go to push the ashtray release and it's frigging stuck...I hit it a few more times with no luck....tried a few more times at the Outlet, no luck..the ashtray is friggin stuck.
Anything else to try? Should I just bring it back to the stealer? Such a little thing that I'd like to avoid the dealer if possible...
TIA!!

take the center console out try to open it from bottom. might just be a coin got stuck in between. stealer will probably do the same but put few scratches for free so u might just do it urself. hey if i can pop that thing open u can too.
on the side note, take few corners hot i promise u it'll open again just fine. been there done that.

^^I've had my CS for nearly a year and my clear corners are still at the dealer...I guess I'll have them put on when the 3 comes in...whenever that is...
What are you impressions so far on the CS?

The Cayenne handles like a car, which is important for me. My parents have an ML430 and that thing drives like a truck...bugs the hell out of me. My last SUV was an X5 so I really appreciate SUV's that handle like sedans. The CS is stiffer than the X5, the best example I can think of is that it handles like a Porsche LOL..sounds funny, but I feel similar feedback in the CS and my old 996 C2.
Engine
I love the sound of the motor at startup...it's got good power, still getting used to the throttle response, but great on the freeway for passing. Still in break-in, but can't wait to open her up and see what she can do. Haven't dealt or noticed gas mileage yet. The transmission is smooth - it doesn't wander for gears which is noticeable in my old X5 and the 2 ML's that I've driven.
Interior
I love the titanium package interior (the two-tone sold me) - the little things like the brushed sills and silver gauges are nice - the steering wheel has a lot of functions that I need to get used to. Wish the climate control had more flexibility, but again - still new so I haven't had a chance to get used to it. Not sure if anyone else feels this way, but I wish the seat would go "lower" - I like to rock the ultra ghetto lean when I'm driving and can't quite pull it off in the CS LOL. Wish the rear seat had a little more room - but hell, I never sit back there. Love the 2 covers for the rear cargo (net and hard cover) - hate that I had to buy a $160 floormat for the rear compartment LOL.
Exterior
I was 50/50 on the titanium package exterior (seal grey accents) - I really wanted the all black look but it's growing on me. Love the big *** exhaust pipes/tips - very beefy. The titanium 18's match well, with the sport tires - but will patiently wait in line for Arlings Sport Techno's
I've put about 300 miles on it so far - but aside from the ashtray deal, it's been great...very glad I didn't get the RRS. My bodyshop had one they were doing an Arden kit on...looked great on the outside, but the interior is so cramped...didn't like the "feel" and ergonimics of anything either. If $$ and exterior looks were the only factor, I'd give the nod to the RRS with almost 12K off, it's a helluva deal. But the Cayenne S was a better overall package for my needs.

I had this problem once or twice as well. I can't remember why it happened exactly because I got rid of the car a year ago now. But once you get it out it won't happen again for quite awhile I'm pretty confident.
I think what might of happened was, you had a coin go in the wrong place and sideways, which is preventing the top part that gets pushed down as you push the astray INWARD won't close.
