Turbo vs Turbo S

Turbo vs Turbo S
Hi All,
I currently have a Cayenne S and still love it. I have an itch to buy a new SUV by the end of the year. Nothing really compares wth the Cayenne, so I am thinking about just getting another one. The price for a Turbo is around $20,000 cheaper than a Turbo S. The Turbo S seems to have bigger wheels and 70 more hp than the Turbo, which to me, doesn't really justify the difference in price. What do you guys think?
Thanks

The turbo is available with the same wheels that come standard on the Turbo S. I'd buy a nice CPO'd Turbo, and do Cargraphic lowering module to firm up the overly soft PASM and do bypass pipe and software. Save yourself 12,000-15,000 dollars.

Get a Pre-Facelift Turbo and add a Ecu upgrade, Mufflers, Bypass pipes and Airintake and Voila its a CTTS Killer. Or order the 08 turbo which already is a CTTS killer straight out of the production line!.

But there is more to the turbo S than bigger wheels.. updated ecu, bigger brakes, upgraded intercoolers.. this update alone if you do it yourself will cost you 20K.. the best thing is to buy a used one, an 05.. do the ecu update, intake, fullexhaust then you'll be at 520+

Turbo S is not really worth all the extra money (20k) over the regular Turbo, but it is better/faster than the Turbo. If money is a concern I would go with a used 05/06 Turbo (04s have cd based nav and more bugs) and do an ECU upgrade. If performance is all you care about, you may want to consider the ML63. Interior is lacking compared to Turbo/Turbo S, and its not as offroad/towing capable, but performance and options are on par with Turbo S.

i was in the same situation as u're. couldn't justify the Turbo S price difference because it's gonna be family daily beater. don't like the new style (yet) & the extra horsepower is useless for my need. i like Cayenne because it's a great all-around car that's safe & confortable. i don't care its speed because it's not a sports car. the Turbo is good enough for what it is imo.

Given the big discounts now given on the Turbo S, The Turbo S is a screaming deal. Why spend a lot of money and effort modifying a standard Turbo? The factory has done the research, and the result is Turbo S, fully backed by factory warranty.
