CTT wouldnt idle after fill-up,coincidence?
i went to SoCal Friday morning, on the way back in the afternoon about 130 miles before I reach home, i went to fill up my tank at a Chevron station, started the car then CTT wouldnt stay idle, then just dies, the throttle have no response
I was 150miles away from home at 6pm on a Friday night.LOL I was thinking it might be the gas I put in, coils, vacuum leak, could be anything..the closest dealer was Fresno, they got me a rental from Fresno airport...so now my car is at Fresno Porsche 150 miles away from my house, what a disaster, a long night last night, took me 2-3 hours to get the car towed, get a rental and then I still have to drive 150 miles
So what does everyone thinks? bad gas? leak? coils? I drove 600 miles already with no problems only happened after my last fill up, coincidence?
there were no "!" on the dash..
time to trade the car in?

Hard to say, but I would ask the dealer to take a sample of the gas. If it had water in it then your car might run like that but there should've been stalled cars all over near that station if that was the case. Did you notice any others while you were waiting for the tow? If your mileage is 40k or higher then coil packs could be the problem. trade it in...

i had the same thing happen to me and my first though was the gas i put in. i was able to take to the dealer and it was the coils. Mine happened at about 5k miles. it was fixed under warranty and everything has been running fine since.
Sorry to hear it happen so far away from home. Mine happened near my house and it still felt like a disaster.

Did the dealer say they found anything wrong? Sounds like the tank vent valve was stuck open. When this happens on a fill up, fumes from the tank enter the intake manifold and flood the engine, making it very hard to start and idle. If they haven't done it already, have the fault codes checked. There may be a fault for the vent valve, or it may just get stuck occasionaly. Hope this is of some help.

Was the car running while you were filling up? If so, 5speed is probably right. Kinda odd, otherwise, that it happened after the fill-up.
Hey, demand that TT or GT loaner and tell them you want them to drive the car a few days to make sure it doesn't happen again.
...or, you might consider that you kept this car long enough and it's time to move on!

That's cool about the loaner, though.
