Question Hard to sell the CTT?

Am I getting into a market where it's hard to find buyers for these cars used? It seems like people gobble up MBs, BMWs, Porsches etc left and right.

I don't think my price is high considering the CTT is CPO'd, which costs a pretty penny. I really haven't had too many people interested and when they have expressed interest through this forum they are so hard to get ahold of.

Just wondering if other people have had similar issues with cars in the same price range?

BTW: My CTT is an '05, 48k miles, CPO'd till end 2008/100,000 miles and I am asking $61,500.00 OBO (edited). I honestly haven't even gotten that many offers at this point.

It gonna be a tough market Jason. You have what is considered one of "the" premium SUV's on the market. SUV sales are down across the board, and the fact that you have a 500hp SUV, you are already going to have a smaller market to broadcast to.

On top of that, you have high miles for an 05. For those who are looking, they are probably going to choose something with lower miles and no mods for a similiar price point. Now that the 08's are out on the lots, the older models are going to depreciate like rocks.

Sorry man. I feel for ya. I had a lifted and decked out 06 Titan that I took a beating on recently. Just a bad time to sell and a great time to buy. If you really need to move it, I would suggest being prepared to take a hefty hit. Either that or be really patient.

I just find it hard to believe that in 2 years with under 50k miles the CTT has to take a $50,000.00 hit off the MSRP. That just seems insane!

I understand what you are saying though, I think patience is the key and just getting the word out there that such a clean car is availble.

Jason,

I love your truck. Let me just say that...but as someone who was JUST in the market for a CTT i can say that it miiight be priced a tad too high.

Not that your upgrades arent completely sick (they are) and the condition of the truck isnt great (it obv is) but i think on paper an 05 with 48k miles is what it is to some extent.

Just go hop on Autotrader.com....do a search for just 05 CTT's and look at the prices. Obviously there is a wide range of vehicles on there but still...take a look at what your buyers are looking at.......just an idea.

Still wish i had the coin to take that thing off your hands tho - such a beauty!

It should sell as there is no more of a better daily driving practical automobile on the planet, imo....I have one and can't imagine driving another car, other than my GT3 of course. Best of luck with the sale.

Sorry due your way over price you'll never get what you paid for your options so forget that. The best thing you can do is put it back to stock sell the options and sell the SUV separately. I just did a KBB on you SUV your price range is $49-$59K, sorry man just a dose of reality. People looking for used aren't going to pay more than "Wholesale" or generally called "Trade in Value" for a car....

I'll lower the price in my listing, but shouldn't it be up to people to know what the car is worth and make an offer? Since when do you sell things at their "realistic" value?

Agreed with you to an extent. Of course everyone is going to treat your starting price as your "asking price," and will negotiate from there. The point is that you have to start it at a realistic asking price.

I agree with Jon, I think you have a fantastic looking SUV well optioned and tastefully modded. From the pictures I can only assume it is as clean as it looks. Like all of us, we hope to get as much as we can when we sell, but if you really want to sell the thing you are going to have to be prepared to take a heavy hit. If you aren't ready to do that, just drive it and enjoy the hell out of it.

Anyone that is looking for a car/SUV already knows what it's worth and they know what the going prices are for like cars/SUV. Like others have said the SUV is sweet, unless you need to unload it keep and and enjoy it or be prepared to take it without a kiss first!

I think its probably the miles hurting you. YOu can get a new 06 CAyenne Turbo S for $30-35k off list. I saw an 05 turbo in FL with only 15k miles and very nicely equiped for $61k.You truck is beautiful. Bummer that you're taking such a hit.

I need to go check one of these things out as they are relatively cheap for what you get.

Good luck with the sale but I agree with the posts here, high dollar SUV's have very poor resale and I am afraid to even ask Marc what kind of hit he took. Most people looking for this kind of ride aren't looking for mods so if possible strip them and sell em off.
