You'll want to make sure this doesn't eventually affect the CarFax report and/or title for your car. A "True Mileage Unknown" or "Mileage Discrepency" mark would significantly reduce the value of your car.

wow great point, i never even thought of that.

this week hopefully the new cluster will come in and theyll put it in....assuming that it should be correct....that should all be fine right?

or does this somehow get reported or inputted into a system that can linger around. im not exactly sure how carfaxes and these records are created...if this will affect it.

thought id throw in a quick update

so the dealer got another 'new' cluster, i dropped off my car this morning, picked it up this year, and all is fine now....it actually has 30 miles LESS than what it did last wk when i initially took it in, and they also didnt account for the 160 miles ive driven since that point...so all in all my car is reading about 200 miles less than it should but oh well im not complaining they logged it out w/the mileage it shouldve been though so not to have any mileage issues in their systems.

south shore porsche in freeport (bought it from there), but also have had some things done at porsche huntington, which is really good too.

thanks...i was pretty worried but im glad it worked out!
