IS that installed in your dash? was that custom or the kit is made for dash installation?

 

I do believe that is a custom install into the dash.

Installation was custom...modification of the dash. Everything needed was in the box for the radar detector/laser diffuser. You can also mount the display vertically. The settings allow for you to choose which orientation works better for your dash. I almost went that route...to the left of the navigation.

I haven't seen any great mounting for the V1(which I personally purchased based on Rennlist feedback). Also; do like to switch between my cars, so never hardwired.

 

I had both the 8500 and the V1, without a doubt the V1 is the best. Performance is very, very close but having the directional arrows is a feature that once you get used to it, you can not do without.

I recently ordered another V1 and gave my 8500 to a family member.

 

I have owned them all. Hands down the K40 is the best, HANDS DOWN!!!!!!!!!

Hard wired under my front bumper and back bumper. Lights on the dash board. It is unreal!!
Have received numerous tickets with the others and none with the k40... enough said!!

YOur the second person to mention i mentioned that like a few posts up... im glad im not the only one.... K40 is so confident in their product if you get a ticket because that thing didnt warn you or block it then they will pay for it

 

You guys that own the K40 are delusional if you think that it actually jams laser. The K40 is the most overpriced unit on the market with marginal radar detection and it failed to jam a single laser gun used by the police today. You guys seem to be impressed because they claim that they will pay for your tickets, Rocky Mountain Radar also makes this claim and they can't jam anything either. The K40 is a scam that they aim at people with higher end cars because they know that you have money to burn.

Wow, the K40 will pay the cost of your laser tickets for 1 year. It is easy to pay for that because how many laser tickets do you receive in one year? I am sure they can handle a few traffic tickets when the K40 doesn't work and they just made $2000+ off of you.

What about the Passport SRX?

 

The SRX has the same jamming and radar detection capabilities as the SR-7 and the SR-7 did very well in the latest testing. It beat the Valentine One in some of the detection tests but the SR-7 was mounted high at the top of the windshield which is better for radar detection but not recommended by Escort. They said that you should mount it in the grill or somewhere below hood level. Had the SR-7 been mounted lower where it is supposed to be, it probably wouldn't have beaten the V1 in those tests.

The SRX has the same laser jamming abilities as the ZR3 and it was found to be about 80% effective against police laser.

The SRX is light years ahead of the K40 in radar detection and it can actually jam laser 80% of the time unlike the K40 which can jam 0% of the time and the SRX is cheaper than the K40.

 

You sound very bitter? Do you have stock in the other companies? Are you upset that we like the k40 and you don't? All I can say is by my experience the k40 is hands down the best. It has nothing to do with the money. I have received at least 6 tickets speeding in Malibu since 2005, 6, all with the Escort and V1, now that I use the k40, 0 That is right 0. Proof is in the pudding , unless you believe that the Police stop giving tickets out in Malibu or I am just real lucky now. All the tests are great, the articles are great, but how does it act when it is in my car! You want the truth you got the truth but it seems YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!

 

I only own stock in the truth and the truth is that the K40 doesn't jam any laser guns used today. Just because you haven't received a ticket yet doesn't mean that your K40 works. I have driven fast for years when I was younger and I had no protection and I never received a ticket. Do you think my windshield wipers provided protection or was it my antenna that deflected away the negative cop energy? I can handle the truth because I have seen it with my own eyes and the K40 doesn't work. You can't handle the fact that you dropped over $2000 for a POS that you claim works. Why don't you make a video of your K40 jamming police lidar guns because I have seen how it doesn't jam anything.

Why don't you find a video on Youtube.com or some other website that shows everybody how your K40 works against lidar guns. I bet you will find plenty of videos of the Laser Park Pro, Blinder, ZR3, etc. working but there are no videos of the K40 working. The proof is in the pudding and the K40 is a big pile of crap pudding...ENJOY!
