I'm not sure what could be wrong with ur key, but the only problem i have ever see with my entry and drive feature is some times when u are in the car it does not recognize the key in the car. so it show a msg then i take the key out of my pocket and it works fine. i dont know if there is a way to re-set the key or not but that could be a good option.
for the suggestion with the new vehicle, both the MB and RR are a good cars and good companies, but i think you get a better toys and compatibility issue with the Mercedes benz (MB) rather then the Ranger Rover (RR). but if u keep every-think stock and dont want the little gadgets then it would not matter. But if u want the same comfort ride as the RR with a MB u will need to put the extra money down for the air ride system the ML550 does not come with it. and i think the RR-sport does.
if it was up to me personally i would get the ML550 just because i think u get more bang for the buck with the MB

Dont even think about those Range Rovers, I do not reccomend them.
If you want an MB either get the ML63 or wait in september for the 550 engine which has 388hp does 0-60 in 5.7 seconds.

I really like the looks of the RR I will stay far from there
The ML55 (sold to a 6speeder) that we had at Denver, Colorado for 3 years was a consistent ride. My wife is in love with the Cayenne S and I do know what to do. My sence is telling me sell the Cayenne S ..more problems are comming ....but on the other hand my wife love it.
Tomorrow I will take her for a test drive of the ML550 of ML320 CDI....becasue that there is not warranties tha the new Cayenne will be free or normal issues ratio.

i like my cayenne too and i encountered several errors such as panaromic roof getting stuck and doesnt even close. Parking sensors going of at the first day and in fact that my warranty will end by 3rd october this year, i think porsche should extend the warranty up to 4 years as an average owner would drive the car from 5 years or even more.
