specific noise noticed in cayenne turbo anyone else?

Thanks in advance for help...i have an 04 cayenne turbo bought in march this year and from the 1st day ive owned it i notice a noise or rattle if u will coming from the what seems to be the steering column or front left side of the car cant really tell where it is specifically coming from however i notice it the most at LOW speeds going over sharp bumps....very annoying!!!...took it to dealer a while back and he just checked under the car to make sure the suspension was tight but he didnt look that hard into it....im going to make a specific appointment for this asap however i was wondering if anyone else experienced or knows about this as it does not sound like cardon shaft issues...thanks
Jeff

I think I had the same problem long ago, was actually the first problem on my car. Whenever I hit bumps or turn the steering, there is this rattle noise.

It came from inside the steering, ask the dealer to check it for you.

I was driving down from boston to virginia last weekend, and i think i encountered that problem, the first day, whenever i went over 70 there was a rattling noise and vibrations coming from the steering wheel. The faster I went the harder the vibrations were. First time i ever went over 80 with the Cayenne. The second night i went up to a 140 and the vibrations and rattles seemed to have subsided. Weird huh?

dealers cant always fix your problems... I have brought my car back for the forth time on the same problem... that is a noise coming from the steering wheel. Whenever I make a full lock turn and straighten the wheel again, theres always this "wooo" noise coming from within the steering wheel column. They have tried changing the power steering pump, brake pump, lubricating the steering column but nothing has worked and I am still getting that annoying sound. They said they will have the Technical Manager look at my car when I bring it in this time... whoever that is... I am just so fed up with this...

Gary: I had the same problem and they fixed it, they have to open up the steering and change something inside it, I wish I still keep the paper of what they did to my car almost 2 years ago.

oh man, I wish you know what they changed... you think your dealer might know what part they changed? It is not a squeak like others have experienced, but a "wooo" sound. I think you know what I am talking about... I am thinking Range Rover Sport at the moment because of this annoying issue.

there is a RR Sport downstairs, I don't like it, its too small... you should get the regular supercharged RR

is it more like a ticking / clicking sound?

it more like a gear rubbing sound. between a humming noise and a "wooo" noise... really getting on my nerves...

small is not bad for HK I guess...

dude i told you to go for the Rangie in the first place! it's got a more classy look to it than the Cayenne.

Go for it, sell me the Gemballa kit
