2011 Telephone Module

My S will lock in this week so just doing my last option checks. I read somewhere that you need the Telephone Module for the Bluetooth to work with my Blackberry. I can't imagine that is true, I assume the standard Bluetooth that comes with the car should work for pairing. Can anyone who already has the 2011 confirm that it works without the Telephone Module. Thanks all.

The telephone module, per my understanding, is a QuadBand GSM module allowing you to use a SIM from a GSM provider and the aerial antenna.

Shouldn't be needed if using bluetooth.

The dealer did confirm that standard bluetooth will allow you to connect your phone to the Cayenne. Not all phones will transfer the contacts from your phone. The telephone module does some advanced features so you don't have to depend on your cell phone capabilities. For everyday cell phone connection the standard bluetooth is fine. At least that is what my research has shown. I did not order the telephone module with my CS

I have the phone kit in my '10 997tt

I use the Bluetooth on a day to day.

The only reason I keep a SIM in the unit is so when I drive to the middle of no where for a project (Louisiana…) I can get reception. It’s a nice security blanket.
