OIL usage

When I first got the car I was going through a quart of oil every 500 miles...
For some unknown reason the excessive oil usage slowed way down...
I've only got 6K miles on it now (2009 911S COUPE) and after an oil change the oil level started staying pretty close to full... Nothing I did differently?
It just decided to stop using too much oil.... I consider it "Divine Intervention"
because Porsche didn't do anything to allay my fears and aggravation

1800 miles and 0 quarts so far. i called my SA thinking something is wrong with my CTT as most people on this forum will add oil within this time frame. he assure me nothing is wrong and i might just have one that doesn't go thru that much oil....

Went through this with a new 09 S 911 and it just went away.... More dialog on this subject than you care to read.... Don't know why it stopped using oil but it just did... Same quart for 600 miles .....
Lots to read...

Unfortunately it is a fact of life with the CTT. So much for the high tolerances of superior engineered products...

Was told by my service guy that software fix was ready. Got it in my S on Monday.
In any case, have a quart just in case. :-)
Thanks

Yes. Just did mine yesterday.
Page insert replacement and software consumption limits widened. They opened the "gap" so to speak with what is considered normal for the read-out.

Just a note for the guys that say their level is reading is always registering okay...if you are driving short distance stop and go, you will get a false reading, as there will be moisture and condensation in the oil which which will trick the level sensor into thinking there is enough oil, when in reality, there is a lot of condensation in the mix. To make sure you have an accurate reading on the true oil level, make sure you have highway driving as a part of your routine to prevent the condensation and moisture from forming and giving a false reading. I have 250 miles on my V6, half city and half highway (26 mpg highway :-)) and I am reading normal.
