My New White Cayenne 2011
#20
Congrats!!! When did you place your order to get it ? I placed mine on over an week ago on 4/8 for a 2012 model, was told that I won't know for sure till probably June, and most likely the delivery will be in Nov...long agonizing wait!
Order the same color, so I am also interested to know, if you don't mind sharing, how much did it cost you to have the lower valence trim to be painted in the same white body color by your dealer?

My order was placed on last june as well, but it took so long to get the second batch which has all the options manufatured e.g., two tone leather and panoramic sunroof etc..
regarding the paint cost, our dealer's asking price is around $3,000 for painting the lower trim.

Did they sand the lower parts to give it the smooth look or just paint white over the texture? I thought about doing it before I took delivery but just decided against it. Might eventually get the lower GTS look which at that time
I'd have those painted.
I'd have those painted.

Don't think paint color over texture is the right way to go, you have to sand it first right?

to do it properly, yes, sane and paint, BUT I was given two price quotes when I was researching.
1st no sanding, just painting, 2nd sanding to look smooth as rest of car then painting.
the 2nd is the only way to go IMHO, but there is always an option to not sand.
would like to know what he did in this instance with the white Cayenne.

of course friends, you're all right, first they had to sand the lower parts to give it the smooth look then they painted it. otherwise it'd look ugly if they painted over the texture and also the paint might peel later on.
