I ordered a '12 Cayenne S w/o PCM. I was navigating through eBay and found a PCM nav unit, is it possible for me to install it after receiving my vehicle? My cayenne will be equipped with the burmester audio option. Any answer will be thanked,

While this may not be helpful and I don't know the answer to the question I couldn't help but post a response. It seems a little bit odd that you went with the 5k burmester option then decided to not to get the PCM, but to instead buy one after and retrofit instead. May I ask your reasoning for this seemingly strange approach...?

We dont use NAV here in my country, besides when i was configuring my cayenne, i just wanted the BURM and the 20'' wheels. Now that my order has been locked, i'm torned for the PCM.

 

yeah, i can understand that your country does not use the nav. If that's the case why would you want to buy an unit from ebay?

I really like the navi. I think with the touch screen it's really ahead of the previous generation PCM.

 

CDR31 also has touchscreen

 

both units have touch screen

PCM only extra is USB for ipod, and navigation.

 

Also, the PCM allows the rear camera to be installed. I only have the parking sensors, which are sufficient for me, but let's say in the future i might get interested in installing it, the PCM would be a requirement.

 

I actually have a similar situation. I have an '11 CS w/CDR31. I was wondering what I would need to upgrade to the PCM w/nav. I have seen a couple of units on EBAY. Is there any additional hardware needed. How difficult is the install?? Thanks

 

Mate, I'm in the same boat. Got my self a Cayenne S Hybrid, and I would love to get the Nav, R.Camera, and to connect my iPod to the USB.

The price on Ebay are very good, but Im not sure if it will be compatible with the Hybrid system.
