Help - dealer messed up my order - no XM NavTraffic
After waiting 4+ months since placing my order my dealer called me to say my car was ready for pick up. When I checked the build it was missing one key feature - XM Radio. Now I can live without the stations but I REALLY wanted integrated Navigation and Traffic. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do it after market? Is it even possible? The only thing I can come up with buying a second portable navigation unit but it seems stupid to have 2 in the vehicle. Should I just ask them to re-order and wait ANOTHER 90-120 days?
Needless to say, very frustrating.

I would make it the dealers project to figure it out how to make it OEM.
I have had several vehicles with both XM and Sirius (when they were separate) and there simply was a plug and play module under the dash for their respective service. On some brands, you could just swap out the module under the dash for which service you preferred.
Porsche may be the same, a module, antenna and programming the computer. A good start would be the dealers parts department to look at some schematics.

Ask them to swap out the whole PCM unit with a unit from a demo vehicle they use for test drives they may have in stock (if any). Alternatively, can't they order the PCM alone with XM and swap it for yours when it comes in. That must take less time than a new vehicle and you would have the use of your truck until it comes. (Posted on other site also-sorry for dup.)

Resolution was to order a new cayenne as the couldn't or wouldn't put in the XM.

He may have a crappy dealer. If I was a dealer and messed up a customer's new Porsche order after they waited months to get it, I would make it RIGHT no matter what.

When I bought my 2008 GTS off the lot it didn't have XM. I told them that was a deal breaker for me. They simply asked me to drop off the car the following Saturday and from that day forth I had XM. Not sure what they did or even if it applies to the newer model. Good luck
