Issue with the low beams went away once I swapped the thin ballast in my fogs to the normal size one so guess the thin ones won't work for fogs and they affect the low beams at the same time. Everything has been good so far after the swap.

On a side not i replaced all the interior and exterior with LEDs and am having an error with the plate bulbs only. Tried the set I got from DME and HOEN but both give errors. Any suggestions?

Does anyone have specific instructions on install of HID fog conversion? Looking at the picture, it doesn't look exactly plug and play. I am mostly concerned with where to mount or tie up the ballast portion of the kit.

Mr.Brightside, I don't have the specific instruction on how to install the HID fog, but what my tech did was instal the ballast on the frame of the vehicle. You can contact Greg at House Automotive for detail on how he did my car. Hope it helps.

You are correct, anything above 4300k outputs less actual light output as in lumens. 4300k is the color of natural sunlight in the early afternoon. 4300k in a factory projector housing puts out 3200lm, when you go up to about 5000k it'll look whiter/bluer and the output of the actual bulb drops down to 2800lm. Our eyes are more sensitive to blueish light so it'll look "brighter" to oncoming traffic but the actual usable light on the ground becomes less. The difference is minor, and unless you know it as a fact and put two cars side by side.. it's not a night and day difference in light output. I personally have 4 105w HID bulbs in 4 HID projectors on one of my vehicles ..

When you go to the dealership there are two types of brand new D2S (factory projector hid based bulbs) bulbs. The popular ones are the philips 85122 bulbs and the other one is 85122+, that plus sign is basically a 5000k bulb because as HID bulb "age" they become bluer over time.. it's a color shift after about 100 hours of usage, they have that 85122+ bulb to color match to a used HID bulb. Just info in case some are curious.

I've been retrofitting factory headlights that never came with HID's with factory hid projector components since 2003 as well as installing those high powered led into headlights before Audi came out with them (so regret not patenting those things.. haha) so everything and anything HID and headlights is my forte. I am however totally against HID kits and sticking HID bulbs into a housing designed for halogen as it creates annoying and dangerous glare to oncoming traffic but.. I got tired of going around explaining that to people now I just have HID powered reverse lights on a dedicated switch for that purpose ha ha ha.. HID in fog lights isn't as bad as an HID kit in a big ol' reflector housing on a lifted truck.. those.. are dangerous to oncoming traffic =P... Anyways... continue on
