2000 mile fluid change -- should I do it?

My 2012 CTT just passed 2,000 miles today. To change the oil (including filter) and brake fluid will cost me approximately $450 at my dealer's.

Is it worth it? I want to keep my vehicle in tip-top condition, but (a) Porsche doesn't advise it and (b) that is a fair bit of money -- even if I did spend close to $150K on my SUV.

So--I am seeking the thoughts of my fellow enthusiasts. What do you all say?

Why did you think you need to do it if Porsche doesn't have it in It's regular maintenance?

I don't think it need a change. Just follow the factory maintenance.

Pretty standard fare for high performance engines. It is believed that there are metal particles and other contaminants that accumulate during break-in period that should be changed / flushed out right after break-in. There are engines that have "break-in oil" that was specially formulated for the break-in cycle. Though this is not likely the case as Porsche did not require it. The particles/contaminants is probably the main reason.

Do it if you want but it's not necessary nor will it benefit you since its unlikely you would own that engine past 100-150k miles. Agree on the fact that the price is standard fare. Local p-car shops will do it for a little less and can do the same job as the dealer.

I ALWAYS change oil / oil filter after 1500 miles from new. It's worth the 300 bucks or so...
