Don't know if any of you other guys have gotten one or noticed if you have, but the Aux BT now shows Artist and track names with the new iPhone 4s. I know the new phones uses bluetooth 4.0, or it may be the new IOS5, but just a heads up, you get that info now.

 

sweet. i still got the iphone4. i'll try to update with the new iOS5 and see if i get it as well.

 

I noticed that yesterday. It's awesome to finally be able to see track and artist info like the bluetooth is a legitimate input source.

 

confirmed. iPhone4 with new IOS5 shows tracks/title under AuxBT - nice feature.
Just be prepared for a huge headache updating. My phone took 6+ hours to get done. Still trying to get my iPad working after it totally crashed trying to update. NOT a smooth process updating.

 

I guess timing is everything, I updated 1 iPhone and 2 iPads(all 32gb models and all almost full) on the 1st day of release and did all 3 devices in under an hour and it was hassle free.

There were reports of some people taking several hours the 1st day, but I assumed that was not the issue anymore.

 

Wish it was the case - after getting first ipad running, waited a couple of days and then figured would try to update the wifes ipad2. seemed to be fine until near the very end when "could not restore from backup" popped up. restarted and then "can not read backup" - ugh. After 4 restarts, power cycling, etc, finally got it to run, but most the apps dont work. Not sure if thats a iOS5 thing or corruption on the restore. What a pain and waste of 6 more hours of my life. Still have one more iphone4 to do, but for obvious reasons am putting it off.

 

Wow sorry to hear that, it makes no sense how some people breeze right through things and other people have these issues.

 

Data point only... quick updates for me on three Iphone 4 and one Ipad. Love the new software.

Somewhat off topic and related to the address book function. My address book loaded fine, but shows duplicate entries. I tried deleting and reloading, but still the duplicate problem. There are no duplicates in my 4S. Any thoughts on how to resolve this?

 

All I can think is that maybe if you had another iPhone stored that the system hasn't deleted the old phonebook and so your new 4s is a duplicate.

 

Good point and I probably did some of this stuff backwards. Still, I did delete the old phone and any phonebooks (and confirmed that they were gone). Reloading my current phonebook results in dups nonetheless.

 

yep aux bt function works to show song titles. i was hoping it would be able to do the same for pandora.. no luck.

also as a FYI if you didnt know, you can advance songs with your car function through the aux bt and don't need to do it through the phone. i thought this was pretty sweet. even works with pandora.

on the similar note of others for IOS5 though, thing is so buggy and runs slow as crap. i think apple put out a **** OS without testing it well first.

 

Well, I have been beta testing iOS 5 since first released. I have found absolutely zero bugs on the final software so far. Perhaps something particular with your device, but overall, mine continues to run smooth and lag free on my iPhone 4 and 4S (AT&T), both of my iPad 2 (GSM and WiFi models) and my wife's iPhone 4S (Verizon).

Might want to back up your device and restore. May make a difference.

Same here. Running iOS 5 on my iPhone 4, iPad 1, and my kid's iPods and it is smooth sailing on all.
