The long and winding road...

The 50mm 1.4 is my favorite portrait lens. Wife calls it the beauty photo lens, but refuse to use it since there's no zoom. She just wants to be in the photo with it.
Didn't know it works so well on car shots as well. Something to try this weekend...

Turbo II 21" Wheels
In the spirit of some of the other owner's threads like W00t's, I'll be reviewing the major features of the car (and providing ample pics!). As a new buyer, I know coming by concrete information is tough, and it doesn't help that most dealers don't even have these cars in stock to look at or test drive. (I mean, that's the whole point of going to the dealer, is to be able to see in person, right??)
So, without further ado, starting with the Turbo II wheel option:
Now, interestingly enough, I hear these are not a forged wheel (despite being $8k a set ), they are cast. Given the upgrade price when buying the car, it was not too bad a deal, though if I ever curbed one of these and had to replace it, I'd probably buy a different wheel ($8k can you get you some really nice wheels!!) Of all the OEM cayenne wheels tho, I do love the look of these and they're great for showing off those big red calipers.
For everyday driving, these wheels cut if just fine. Very little road noise (these came with the Michelin Latitudes btw) and pretty smooth ride. However, these are definitely not a wheel you want to go off-road with! I did take them over some dirt trails, and it nearly shook my teeth loose And in off-road conditions, you have to be very careful not to bend the rims. For normal street driving, no issues at all though.
The inner part of the rim is painted a dark-grey (on a JBM car I imagine these would look really hot if the dark-grey were instead painted JBM) with a beautiful clear coat, and the outer face has a brushed finish. In direct sunlight, you can really see the brushed finish shine!

Tinted Taillights
New for MY2012, you can spec tinted taillights for your cayenne. Now, if you've ever tried tinting your own taillights, you may know there are various films (or spray-on products) that you can apply, to give your taillights that "murdered out" look. This looks nothing like those, nor nearly as ghetto Rather, it looks like a normal tail light, but with much darker plastic. The white triangular piece on the top is gone too, giving the lens an overall much more uniform look.
There is still some clarity to the lens, but overall it blends much better. Especially with a JBM or flat black, the lenses almost disappear into the bodywork.
Overall, simply amazing, I love the look of these day or night, and highly recommend them to anyone looking to give their car a "cleaner" look.

Nice camera work! The tinted rear light looks amazing!
Btw, I read the Tequipment it states that the Turbo II wheels are forged. I ordered them as well because the they look better in person than the sport edition wheel.

If you mean the illuminated door sills (that light up "Cayenne Turbo"), those are an extra. If you mean the yellowish lighting in the footwell, that is stock, there's a switch overhead to have those only come on when you open the door or on all the time. Because it's tied to the LED light strips in the door (which ARE an option, part of the comfort package), I just leave them on all the time. (Makes finding things in the car easier at night too, and the lighting isn't bright enough to distract me.)
