OEM standard exhaust turned into a Sport exhaust?

I know this has been touched upon in the past. This was a project I was going to undertake with my new Cayenne but I decided to buy a Panamera instead.

Months back after hearing the great reviews about the Sport exhaust I pulled the trigger and did it. My dealer matched Suncoasts' price and during the process I learned how the set-up is done. It would appear to me (and the service writer) that the Sport exhaust is simply the regular exhaust with the 2nd outlet utilized and the valve installed on the second pipe. When I did the Sport exhaust on the first Cayenne, it left me with a OEM exhaust as a spare, my plan was to take this to a metal working/fabricating/exhaust shop and have them remove the circular knockout and attach tubing from that knockout to the standard outlet. This would leave me with a standard exhaust that in theory should sound like a sport exhaust just without a valve that’s activated by the sport button in the dash.

The above scenario would have a bunch of benefits, first off I had a donor exhaust (3200.00 savings), second, the 800.00 install wouldn’t be needed and all the routing of the vacuum lines and pump wouldn’t be needed, not to mention taking apart have my right side interior to run said vacuum lines, and third, should it not work, the original exhaust could be reinstalled.

So, if anyone is interested in trying this project, I have an OEM exhaust for sale (along with a bunch of accessories in the Marketplace), please PM me if interested.
