Oil above maximum level?

Our one week old V6 popped an error this weekend, something about oil level above maximum level. Manual says to bring it to dealer at convenience, so I assume it's not an urgent issue? Already left a voice mail for service advisor.

Strangely, it has been driven for 5 days without this error. How did excess oil get in there?

I had the same issue when I got my V6 six months ago. It disappeared within a few days. I had the car checked at the dealer and everything was fine. I think its more of a computer glitch which resets when you restart the car.

Yup a week as of today. The vibration wasn't much of an issue. It's gotten a lot better so I am hoping it will completely go away as we put on more miles. But this oil error is not going away. I was hoping it will burn some oil like my 997 but it ain't happening.

I will take it in to dealer and have them look at it.

I'll bet you were in auto start/stop and went to reverse with the restart just before the Oil Above Maximum warning came on..... I'm guessing it's back pressure in the oil system, and it's easily corrected by taking the oil fill cap off for a second and putting it back on.
