European Delivery now free

I just spoke to Jamie Dillon, European Delivery Specialist at PorscheUSA and she told me that the European Delivery option that I am planning for May 2012, will now be free! This option previously was 2.5% of the vehicle so it's quite a savings (over $4K) on a $140K car. Not sure when it starts, but I will luckily be one of the first.

Admin: this good news might be better posted in a more general location than the Cayenne Forum!

Still have to pay VAT. To me, this is the bigger inconvenience. I think it is just absolutely insane that you have to pay VAT, considering that outside of the VW group you don't. Just bothers me...

Anyway, glad you are saving some money.

Didn't know that outside VW group you don't have VAT issues. You mean Mercedes, BMW, you don't? I wonder if it's because BMW, for example, makes cars in South Carolina. Anyhow, one does get it back eventually albiet it is inconvenient.
