looks like the Cayenne shortage is over (at least in my area, eastern Long Island)

local dealer has 6 in stock, mix of S, V6 and Hybrid in asst of colors.

They probably just received their allocation when you visited. We bought our V6 at a dealer that had 4 V6's in stock last December, when all 6 other dealers in the area had none. But those were gone within 2 weeks.

When I picked up my CS there were 3 other cayennes on the lot however they were all pre-sold. Just because they are on the lot doesn't mean they are for sale.

well it's been a week and most of them are still lined up out front like the ones that are for sale, the cars that are sold get moved back or off the lot to get prepped

In speaking with some "stealers" here in Southern California recently, there is still a shortage. But then again, Southern California has a lot of demand and lots of wealthier areas.
