2012 Cayenne S on the vessel
#76
Good question. I have heard horror stories of new vehicles being "held up in customs" for weeks. Don't know what that mean unless there is something suspicious (can't imagine what that could be) or lack of personnel. Since thousands of new vehicles arrive each day to many ports in the US, I am hoping that this is a very rare occurrence and doesn't slow down our vehicle delivery. The rule of thumb for dealer deliveries to Northern California is approximately 7 weeks from the completion of production. I have also been told 7 to 9 days from the arrival of the ship in port. This all points to the week of the 23rd for me.

My car arrived in San Diego on April 9th. The dealer in San Francisco called me on the 16th to say it will be ready by noon on the 17th.
So, got it within 7 days and was prepped ready to go the next day. Hope this helps.

Just to round out this thread: I finally brought her home!
It was a pleasure to suffer through the waiting time with you!

I really enjoyed tracking the vessel with you as well. It made the long wait much more interesting. My Porsche sales guy desperately wants me to drive the new 991. I have an E92 M3 and I know that comparing the two side by side will be no contest. I can't take a 991 for a test drive until I am ready to place an order
