PCM Navigation Update - PCM 3.1 (2012)

Has any 2011 owner updated the PCM with the new Navigation Disk? Suncoast has them for sale:

http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...de=958V6INTelc

Does the new version add the time feature at the bottom of the screen for 2011 owners? Does it also make it easier to add the dash clock?

Your dealer can update the PCM so you will have the "time" on the screen. I just had mine done last week. There was a TSB for the Satellite Radio now remembering presets. That is how I got mine updated under warranty.

Anybody want to take bets on how long till Suncoast actually posts an accurate picture of the NEW pcm?

Do you happen to have a link, number or pdf for the tsb? I got in my car the other day and all the damn xm stations were gone.

I just scheduled an annual maintenance with the Porsche dealer and specifically asked if there was an update to the PCM. I have a 2011.

He said no Porsche hasn't released any PCM updates. Only issue they were going to fix was the headlight recall.

How does one go around the dealers to find out what has been released and what they should or can be updating? I haven't gotten the impression Porsche dealers are motivated post sales.

My opinion of Porsche keeps sinking based on Cayenne flaws and the reluctance to address them.

Thanks.

I too asked my dealer about this update and received the same response - that there is no update available. Any additional information would be appreciated so i can get this clock in the bottom of the main PCM display.

That is strange they told you that. If you notice in the picture, it no longer has the temp and the date is in that place. I would talk to someone else at your dealer.

Thanks Bluelodge400 for posting the jpegs of the upgrade to 2.44 by your dealer.

I took prints into my dealer today since my '11 C6 was due for the annual service. They were a bit surprised, but did find the s/w update and applied it. My '11 now has v.2.44 (with the clock).

But, it must have had more than just a clock as the car has a different feel to it as well. Gone is the slight hesitation through some of the gears. It's a nice change and takes away the only issue I've had with the 6 vs. the 8.

Suggest folks print those pictures out for your dealer if they have an issue about upgrading the PCM software. So when you go in to get the headlight fix, they can update you software as well.
