It seems this is a very big issue here in Taiwan. There is a class action lawsuit against Porsche's authorized dealer here with their Diesel units. Over 400 customers of 2011 models have complained about excessive soot accumulating on the rear hatch/bumper/glass because DPF was deliberately not installed even though it is stated clearly in the manual and contract as a base option you cannot remove. Its even touted in all their infomercials and catalogs.

I can't understand 100% what the news are saying here but Porsche is offering a ~USD$900 free maintenance voucher for those affected. They are saying DPF cannot be installed afterwards and basically you are screwed and Porsche are not taking responsibility. And according to these owners this is a slap in the face and they are going to sue all the way and not accept this 1 time voucher.

Have you guys heard about this? Im kinda skeptical as how so much soot can fly upwards and stick on the rear. Its also my understanding that DPF is a new tech only recently introduced. And what about those older cayennes without DPF? You don't hear any problems coming out of them.
